I met last Friday with one of the manufacturer reps we do business with. In addition to repping several brands we use, he's also an avid reader of my blog.
Knowing that I would be interested, he recently polled all his dealer accounts in Alberta during his visits on where they stand regarding HD-DVD and Blu-ray. The result was unanimous, and not really surprising: the overall attitude in the marketplace to both formats is "Meh, whatever."
It appears to me that the two rival video camps in our industry have a long row to hoe before gaining acceptance from the dealers. Frankly, if the dealers aren't on board, how are the customers going to adopt either one?
