In case you missed it, a veteran CE professional came out of retirement to post a comment in the LaSenza/Victoria's Secret buyout post.
Not only does his story provide a Sony angle to the story, à la Six Degrees of Separation, but his sanguine deconstruction of the underlying motives and mentalities behind the story frame up a thoughtful, cogent, and cautionary tale with a strong moral for any of us in the business of "selling stuff to people."
My friend wishes to remain anonymous, for reason of his own. However, he is without a doubt one of the smartest people I know. And while I didn't give him a tummy rub in that list of mentors earlier this month only because I never directly reported to him, he still deserves credit for providing guidance and thoughtful support as I've walked the path towards enlightenment.
He's also a brilliant writer, so you owe it to yourself to read it.
