The Onion Calls RadioShack's Situation Perfectly

Proving once again that truth is stranger than fiction, The Onion hits the nail squarely on the head as it reports on Radio Shack's woes:

The Onion: Even CEO Can't Figure Out How RadioShack Still In Business
FORT WORTH, TX—Despite having been on the job for nine months, RadioShack CEO Julian Day said Monday that he still has "no idea" how the home electronics store manages to stay open.
"There must be some sort of business model that enables this company to make money, but I'll be damned if I know what it is," Day said. "You wouldn't think that people still buy enough strobe lights and extension cords to support an entire nationwide chain, but I guess they must, or I wouldn't have this desk to sit behind all day."

I think I'm going to have to retire my coverage on RadioShack simply because I don't think that I or anyone else can top The Onion's work.

Reminds me of the retail workers' manifesto:

We, the unwilling, led by the incompetent, to do the impossible for the ungrateful have done so much for so long with so little we are now qualified to do anything with nothing. We follow our leader's cry, "Move - just move! Any direction will do!"
