It's good to be noticed

One of my character weaknesses is the habit of Googling myself (oh, don't try to tell me that you don't do it too) to see where what I've written has shown up.

Displaytech, a manufacturer of Holographic Data Storage Discs (or HDS), has linked my blog item entitled "Another Reason Not to Buy a Blu-ray Player". If I had known that Displaytech was going to see it, I would have focused more on talking about them and their nascent data storage technology, and less on what is wrong with Blu-ray and HD-DVD.

A couple of my posts (where, alas, I was only linking to other people's content) have been credited on Countercolumn, a political blog focused mainly on the Iraq war. Thanks for the hat tip!

Blog news aggregator Megite.com has started picking up my blog posts. Who knows, that may boost my readership from 17 to 19!

Ironically, my blog posts are being web-crawled and linked on The Lion.com, a bulletin board for day traders. What's ironic about it is that I don't frequent stock tip bulletin boards, since by and large they are dominated by touts driving up lame duck stocks, and short-sellers drving down other lame duck stocks. If you want online entertainment, hang around bodybuilding and strength sport bulletin boards, there's just as many bizarre personalities and strange stories as any where else; and for equities trading, do your own damn research and don't listen to what anybody on a stock tip board tells you.
