Weekend Reading Report

I have a bad habit of reading two or more books at once. Sometimes I'll have three or four going at the same time. Admittedly, it takes me longer to finish any given book that way, but it allows me to peruse whatever I happen to be in the mood for when circumstances allow me the quiet time to sit and read.

So here's what I have going at the moment:

Fooled By Randomness, Nassim Nicholas Taleb.
Whether you are an economics nerd, a probability nerd, a philosophy nerd, or some combination of the above, Fooled By Randomness has much to reccomend it. Taleb's writing is urbane and clever, and his witticisms are as thought-provoking as his ideas.

The Accidental Investment Banker, Jonathan A. Knee
This memoir has come highly reccomended to me by others, although not everyone has had positive things to say about Knee's recollection of events and personalities on Wall Street in the 80's and 90's. Regardless of the verity of Knee's reminiscences, it's quick witted and entertaining. As my grandfather used to say, "never let the truth spoil a good story."
