Pizza and Pornography and...what!?

And the award for Stupidest Thing I've Read All Week goes to:

A new pizza restaurant in western Canada that delivers pornography with every pie has once again proven the adage: sex sells.
Porno Pizza in Winnipeg has been doing brisk business since opening last week, titillating the hungry with racy pictures at the bottom of every pizza box.
"They range from softly-lit, lube-on-the-lens pictures like in Playboy, to raunchy, hardcore photos that would make Larry Flint blush," pizzeria owner Corey Wildeman told AFP. "The image is revealed as you eat the pizza."

Sometimes you come across a news story that just makes you call "bullshit." I have a sneaking suspicion that like last April's poodle sheep story this will turn out to be fabricated. There's just too many outrageous statements that we are expected to *ahem* swallow at face value.

Poodle Sheep Story A Fake!?

It has been brought to my attention that last night's story about counterfeit poodles may not be genuine.

The various media seem reasonably certain the sheep as poodles story is a hoax, and a repeat offender at that, but they are having so much fun with puns and other word play one could almost think the story was invented just for that. The press in Australia and New Zealand were particularly entranced, not surprisingly.

Well, it looks like I got fleeced.

Sheep Sold As Poodles

I'm unsure of a good segue for this, but I just can't leave it alone.

THOUSANDS of Japanese have been swindled in a scam in which they were sold Australian and British sheep and told they were poodles.
Flocks of sheep were marketed as fashionable accessories -- available at $1600 each -- by a company called Poodles as Pets.
A real poodle retails for twice that much in Japan.
The scam was uncovered when Japanese film star Maiko Kawamaki went on a talk-show and wondered why her new pet would not bark or eat dog food. She was crestfallen when told it was a sheep.
Hundreds of other women got in touch with police to say they feared their new "poodle" was also a sheep.
One couple said they became suspicious when they took their "dog" to have its claws trimmed and were told it had hooves. Police believe there could be 2000 people affected by the scam.

Caveat lambtor? Buyer baaaaaaware?
