The End Of The VCR

It's official.

Some people out there consider HD DVD and DVD players to already be outdated technologies.
So what about VCRs? Does anyone even remember VCRs?
JVC apparently does.
The company has announced it will stop manufacturing standalone VCRs, thus ending global sales of the videocassette players when current inventory runs out, reports the Nikkei Business Daily. Wonder what took so long. (via EngadgetHD)

Heh, I thought that it had already happened!
