Some of you might recall that Australian "journalist" David Edwards was caught plagiarising articles written by myself and others.
Well, as it happens, he was called out by MediaWatch, an investigative journalism show on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation channel.
ABC.au: Phantom of the Internet
When called to account for his crimes, his explanation was simple: his website has been hacked by persons unknown seeking to discredit him.
His official responseSeveral stories exposed on Media Watch were not posted by me or 4Square Media staff as Media Watch indicated. These stories have been deliberately posted to our web site using my byline in an effort to discredit both myself and 4Square Media.
We have totally independent evidence that our web site content engine has been accessed by non authorized personnel who appear to have lifted a story from another site and then posted it inside our content engine. A classic example is the Daily Telegraph story exposed on Media Watch.
Oh, come on! Is that really his story?
Meanwhile, Richard's deceptive excuse for journalism continues. Here's another story of mine that he's stolen, and taken credit for.

Is that "reverse hacking"? Or is there a proper term for what he claims happened? I thought hackers normally either stole for their own purposes or destroyed what they found. Hacking to plant evidence? That does not seem to be the most remunerative use of hacking skill.
If a hacker could do what Edwards suggests, then why not just do some 'identity theft' and really deal him a blow to his credibility and person. Plus - don't Edwards and whoever else is posting to their website READ their own site? As in, "Where the %@#$ did THAT come from?!?"
Edwards proves one thing with his latest response, though. His character is consistent - he takes no personal responsibility for anything negative, even if it's his own fault. And I guess he's still taking credit for things he hasn't done.
'Nuff said!
