Really, look at that Niles A/V plate above: it doesn't exactly make your heart race, even if you're a propellerhead. Regardless, they're important.

From a radio geek perspective, look at the difference in the signal patterns at the bottom of page 20.

Unbalanced lines, whether for home signal distribution or sending a broadcast signal are evil power wasting menaces. Unbalanced radiators (your cat5 cable for example) are also great RF noise generators as well. Nature love symmetry, so does your equipment.
