Bell debuts HDTV box that you can add a hard drive to!

It's been a banner week for good news so far, and this latest announcement is no exception.

Marketnews: Bell’s New 6141 HD Receiver Will Easily Turn into a PVR

Bell’s new 6141 high-definition satellite receiver, now available for $299 ($10/mo. to rent), will offer a neat feature for those who wish to upgrade to PVR status: connect any, old external hard drive, and it will instantly become a PVR.
...

At $299 for the receiver, and large-capacity hard
drives available for sub-$100 price points, the 6141 is certainly a cost-effective way for customers to enjoy PVR functionality without a huge investment.

More importantly, it's a future-forward application, where you can opt for an even bigger hard drive down the road, as the price of memory dwindles.

I'm chuffed about what an amazingly sensible marketing decision this is!
