Great news for anyone in the CE install field who has been plagued by problematic HDMI cables! I'm not saying that they've been any more problematic than any other interconnect in the field, but up until now there was no easy way to test them when you were in the middle of a jobsite.

The Retail Bridge: Centronics Intros HDMI Cable Tester
DBS and HD accessory distributor Centronics last week released its new HDTE-200 HDMI cable tester, the latest addition to its Elite HD product line.
Designed to take the guesswork out of HDMI troubleshooting, the HDTE-200 allows the technician to test each cable to quickly determine where there might be a problem. The device can also be used to test new HDMI cables to be sure they work properly before installing them in-wall or behind a home theater cabinet.
To test an HDMI cable, simply connect each end to the HDTE-200's transmitter and receiver connections and let it test each of the cable's 19 pins. It is compatible with all HDMI cables up to 1.3 and can be used with both standard HDMI heads and the mini style found on camcorders.
The HDTE-200 HDMI cable tester is available at an MSRP of $69.95.

I can't tell you how important it is for installers to have a device in the field to test HDMI cables for connectivity. The custom marketplace has been clamoring for this.
