This has been one of my hobby horses since the earliest days. In truth, it was one of the things that I have been most effective at in the course of my working life. My rapid rise through the ranks at Sony from sales to sales manager was due in no small part to the way I raised the bar for my colleagues and got them to perform at a higher level. When it was pointed out to me, I hadn't even realized that I was doing it.
