The Retail Bridge: Sony Introduces Blu-Ray-Enabled Entertainment PC
No word yet on whether the new Sony Blu-ray PC will be able to play back copy-protected, HDCP compliant Blu-ray movie releases, which is something that the BWU-100A Blu-ray drive Sony released at this time last year could not do. Hilarious.

Who says your computer can't do double duty as a TV? Well, most people, I'd imagine. But Sony is giving the desktop entertainment market a shot with its new Vaio LT HD PC/TV."The LT model has everything you need -- it's a PC and HDTV set in one ... device," said Mike Abary, Sony's senior vice president of VAIO product marketing. "It's the ultimate showstopper for media lovers who appreciate high-def performance and cutting-edge technology in a saving space design."Available in both HD and standard definition varieties, the LT PC/TV features a 22-inch widescreen display, an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and a discrete graphics card. The HD version includes a Blu-ray Disc drive. When paired with a Cable CARD, the LT PC/TV allows the user to watch and record analog, digital and cable television programming. It comes loaded with Windows Vista, offers an upgradeable built-in hard drive and incorporates an 802.11n wireless connection for use with an existing home WiFi network. The standard-def model will carry an MSRP of about $1,900, while the HD Blu-ray version will be around $2,900. Both devices will be available starting in October.
