Yup. That's what it is.

Pretty much every forum I've ever read usually devolves into this at some point. It's what the combination of ignorance, arrogance and pseudo-anonymity creates.

It is entertaining however to watch the moderators lose it ala the "Wikipedia" online comics debacle and watching Scott Kurtz at PVPonline.com melt down when internet goobers criticize his work.

Meanwhile, all the really intelligent and useful folks are either off doing productive stuff or reading this blog and "The Epicurean Dealmaker".
