I would like to remind you all of the wisdom handed down to me years ago by the Reverend Brian J Munro when I was just a fresh faced newbie at Sony: Never buy the first generation of everything. It often takes three iterations before the manufacturer gets it right.
Early adopters play an important role as unpaid beta testers for the manufacturer. In fact, early adopters pay for the priviledge of discovering a new products shortcomings. Sure, someone has to buy it. You just have to ensure that it's not going to be you.

It has been my experience that if you are the first one to dive into the pool you will be the first one to find out they haven't finished filling it yet - or sometimes they haven't even started.
