In response to yesterday's piece about Costco reducing their return period for electronics, one of my regular readers brought to my attention a story from the New York Times in which the author celebrates her compulsion passion for buying things and returning them:
NYT: Take Back the Nightie
I have two things to say about this:
First, it seems indicative of the times we live in that every possible behavior needs to be classified as a syndrome. So now, instead of being wishy washy, or suffering buyer's remorse, someone has shopping bulimia? Oy...
Second, I try to avoid making petty judgements, but the author comes across in her essay as a world-class twit. I was aghast at the twisted pride she exhibits in her dysfunctional behavior. I can't help but wonder how she functions when confronted with other decisions in day to day life.
Okay, that's enough bile for one day.
